Abbey Becker is lucky to be the copy editor for MAP Boston. She gets to use Track Changes on Word, which is close enough to wielding a red pen and attacking em dashes and tense agreements. She's lived in Boston since starting at Emerson College in 2004, and she now resides in Cambridge. She's from the Washington, DC, area, but she's completely leaving the mainland in January of 2008 to live in Maui, HI, for a few months. She wasn't so excited about Boston her first year here, what with the unnecessarily long winters and downtown wind tunnels, but once she got back from Europe and moved off-campus, she realized how manageable the city really can be. If one of Abbey's friends wants to go out for dinner, Abbey won't just settle for a chain or some so-so place; she's going to research away on Yelp. MAP Boston ignited Abbeys passion for exploration in Boston and that what drew her to the guide initially. (Volle Nolle and Tangierino, anyone?) Most days, you can find her in Cambridge working at Stellabella Toys in Inman Square or browsing in an independent bookstore for cookbooks and good fiction.
